July 16, 2012 Are your tomatoes ripening slowly? This may be

due to the extreme heat we have been experiencing. While

tomatoes thrive in heat, prolongedperiods over 85 degrees,

day and night, inhibit the production of lycopene and carotene,

the red/orange pigments in ripe tomatoes.

July 24, 2012 Tomatoes are here! They have started ripening in marketable numbers.

This could be our best tomato crop ever. The plants are lush and healthy

looking. The tomatoes are plentiful and big. There is no sign of any

"diseases" such as blossom rot or viral blight.
